Timeline of Activities 2023

LWR, a Corus International Organization, has signed a new cooperative agreement with AL MAJMOUA to deliver financial literacy trainings and provide inclusive access to finance. The new project "STAND" will target more than 675 Micro-Entrepreneurs across Lebanon and will aim to mitigate the business challenges they are facing amidst the dire economic crisis.

Fostering Resilience by Strengthening Abilities (FORSA 2)

A networking event was held on the 20th of March 2023 to celebrate the closing of Forsa 2 Project after 3 years of intense work. The project was implemented by AL Majmoua in partnership with MercyCorps and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

Throughout the project, the youth participants received trainings in financial literacy and business management in addition to 1-to-1 coaching visits in order to be able to develop a professional business plan, promote their business and open to new markets. 109 participants who benefited from a productive grant during the last phase of the program joined the graduation ceremony.

On Sunday the 5th of September 2021, a delegation of Members of the European Parliament and EU visited businesses in Beirut to better understand the situation MSMEs are facing in the current worsening crisis in Lebanon. The visit was organized by Al Majmoua as part of an upcoming new intervention of the LINKED Consortium in Beirut supporting MSMEs, funded by the European Union in Lebanon and in partnership with Mercy Corps โ€“ Lebanon, DRC, Middle East Oxfam in Lebanon and Al Majmoua.

Peer to Peer event - YESI project

The Peer to Peer event was organized on the 11th of August 2021 under YESI project, it was held as part of the CB program introducing young entrepreneur to each other who exchanged their experience.

The event was aiming to cover two main goals:

  • Exchanging of knowledge and experiences among young Social entrepreneurs
  • Potential business cooperation and linkages within the same business vision

Al Majmoua Client Mobil Application

Launching the Al Majmoua Client Mobil Application Update on the 3rd of September 2021 in order to better serve our clients providing them with an added channel for customer service.

Receiving Foundation Ghazalโ€™s "Conflict Prevention and Peace in Lebanon 2020" Award

Al Majmoua received this prize for its outstanding support in the rehabilitation and recovery of micro, small and medium enterprises affected by the 4th of August Beirut Port explosions. It also celebrates Al Majmouaโ€™s positive action in terms of socio-economic development and financial inclusion, over the past 20 years, in providing financial and non-financial services to entrepreneurs across Lebanon

  • Reduced the direct economic downturn impact on vulnerable communities in Lebanon
  • Supported vulnerable persons who lost their livelihoods through supporting targeted MSMEs/cooperative that respects COVID 19 response protective guidelines to increase their productivity and capacity for local produce in sectors needing during this crisis
  • Collaboration with Libanpost
    • Collect or pay Al Majmouaโ€™s loan at all LibanPost offices
    • Availability of "Home Collection"
  • Introduced a loan in "Lebanese Pounds"
  • Food Assistance with Fair Trade Lebanon
    • Distributed food parcels to 40 households

    • With the support of IFC, Al Majmoua earned the SMART CERTIFICATION by adopting its policies and procedures for protecting borrowers showing once again its commitment towards providing a distinguished service to borrowers and treating them with fairness and respect
